bitumen 60/70 of Feedar Esfahan factory and its properties

Today, many kinds of bitumen are available. Such as bitumen 60/70, bitumen 85/100 and etc.

bitumen 60/70:

We would like to talk about bitumen 60/70 of Feedar Esfahan factory and its properties. It is a viscose material with a specific gravity of 1.01 to 1.06 in 25 degree centigrade based on ASTM D-70.

To describe the quality of bitumen 60/70 we can use the another specification such as penetration at 25 degree centigrade. This penetration at 25 degree centigrade is 60 and 70 based on ASTM D-5.

Further properties you can focus on is the softening point of the bitumen. The softening point of the bitumen grade 60/70 of Feeder Esfahan is from 49 to 56 based on ASTM D-36.

The penetration value is determined by the depth to which a standard needle penetrates the sample under the standard condition based on ASTM-36 or equivalent such as BS EN 1426.

Another property of this grade of bitumen is its ductility at 25 degree centigrade, which is minimum 100 based on ASTM D-113.

Loss on heating wt% of bitumen 60/70 is maximum 0.2 percent based on ASTM D-6. Drop-in penetration of this grade is maximum 20 percent based on ASTM D-6 and ASTM D-5.

Flash point of bitumen 60/70 is greater than 250 degree centigrade based on ASTM D-92 method of testing.

The flash point may be measured according to IP 36/84 in an Open Cup or by IP Method 34/88 or equivalent in a Closed Cup.

Bitumen 60/70 is as soluble in SC2 as common bitumen and its solubility factor is greater than 99.5 wt% based on ASTM D-4.

The spot test for this grade of bitumen is negative and paraffin wax content is less than 2%.

Feeder Esfahan Company is able to obtain the best Iran bitumen 60/70 with the  best purity, quality and price.

Feeder Esfahan Company is among the top suppliers of Iranian bitumen in the world with over a decade of experience.  Furthermore the Feedar Group has been active in the field of bitumen for bout double that time, which is about two decades.

Bitumen 60/70 transported from the producer to refineries

Bitumen  (bitumen 60/70)  is a mixture of  aromatics, resins, saturates and asphaltenes. The saturates are nonpolar material including branched, cyclic saturated hydrocarbons and linear hydrocarbons. The asphaltenes and resins have polar substituents.

Asphaltenes are insoluble in an excess of pentane (or heptanes) whereas the resins are miscible with pentane (or heptanes).

amount of asphaltenes, aromatics, saturates and resins in bitumen (bitumen 60/70) may be measured whit a SARA (Saturate, Aromatic, Resin and Asphaltene) analysis method. amounts of asphaltenes, resins, saturates, and aromatics in bitumen (bitumen 60/70) is dependent on the geographical location of the bitumen (bitumen 60/70) and the test method used.

heavy petroleum liquids have an API (American Petroleum Institute gravity) gravity of less than 20°. Extra heavy petroleum liquids is defined as a dense petroleum liquids with an API (American Petroleum Institute gravity)  gravity of less than 10°. Bitumen (bitumen 60/70) has an API gravity of less than 10° and an extremely high viscosity. Bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  is distinguished from extra heavy petroleum liquid by the degree in which it has been degraded from the original crude oil. Often bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  is present as a solid and does not flow at 25 Degrees Celsius temperature.

After extraction of bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  it must be transported from the producer to refineries for processing. The transportation of bitumen (bitumen 60/70) by pipeline requires that the viscosity of bitumen (bitumen 60/70) be low enough so that the pumping requirements and the size of the pipeline are economically optimal. There are several methods which bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  may be transported by pipeline. These methods include; core annular flow; dilution; oil/water emulsion formation; heating; and partial field upgrading.

Dilution is a conventional method that producers have used to transport bitumen (bitumen 60/70) . Dilution requires large quantities of diluent to reduce the viscosity and make the bitumen (bitumen 60/70) easier to pump through the pipeline. At the refinery, the diluent is typically separated from the bitumen (bitumen 60/70) and pumped back to the production site via separate pipelines for reuse.

Typically, in order for pipeline transportation of bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  to be possible, diluent is added to the bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  to prepare a mixture of bitumen (bitumen 60/70)  and diluent. Diluents are mixtures of hydrocarbon solvents or hydrocarbon solvents which are added to the bitumen to improve the movement of the bitumen through a conduit.
